Don't upgrade to iTunes 7.
Sep. 14th, 2006 03:17 pmWell, I should qualify that. Don't upgrade to iTunes 7 if, in Party Shuffle, you set "upcoming songs" to 0 so that you can drag impulse plays into the list as you go and have them play immediately, with the expectation that if it runs out of stuff you've explicitly chosen, it'll fill in the gaps until the playlist muse strikes again.
Because that's completely fucked right now. If you set upcoming songs to 0, iTunes will simply stop playing once it finishes the current song. Which is obviously wrong; if you'd wanted it to do that, you'd have simply made a blank playlist instead of using the special playlist designed to choose songs for you.
Anyway, since that's my single most common use for iTunes, I think I'll leave the new computer (once it arrives) running 6 until I have confirmation that they've fixed this bug. It's a dealbreaker.
