loratadine
Jun. 25th, 2007 11:07 amThere's really only one drug I'm completely dependent on, and I've been taking it for, geez, must be like thirteen years now. Right now I'm at a point where I only really need it for about 50 days of the year, starting roughly when the scotchbroom starts to flower,* so there was a period of a few years where I was subsisting just fine on expired prescriptions and free samples. I finally exhausted that supply this year, and had to go buy some.
It turns out that in the intervening time, not only has the stuff gone OTC, allowing me to self-prescribe to my heart's content, but whatever big pharma co used to own it has lost their patent, which means I can get 60 days worth of the Target-branded knockoff for less than twelve bucks. Let's hear it for low-maintainence health problems!

* Did you know they don't have that stuff out in the midwest? Seriously!
