Not easier. That requires you to 1. carry around your check register if you want easy access to your balance, and 2. do the important kind of sync daily, neither of which are things I've proven myself up to. Plus, my way keeps a reasonably accurate balance in my pocket even if I lose internet access for a week.

I'm not saying YOU have to use it. I'm just saying that I've tried everything else (yes, everything) and it's all failed.
