Holy crow, that show was something ELSE. That woman can fucking belt. The second song she played, the Bob Seeger cover? She put down her guitar, stood up in front of the microphone, tossed her hair, threw back her arms, and then I swear to god the earth moved. Religious experience, dudes. I don't know how I managed to not hear her music until earlier this year, but I tell you what, there is some catching up to be done. The tigers have spoken.

PS: I've been saying her name as ねこ、but it turns out that it's actually pronounced the same as "Nico." I feel like I've come full circle.

I always see her music uploaded on various places, but never actually downloaded it. Mostly because the name reminds me of a person who would sing for disney soundtracks. Not the good disney movies, but the ones that are sequels of sequels.
I'll download it next time I see it though. You've convinced me.

Have you heard the New Pornographers? She's one of the female vocalists. That's her power-pop band, though; her solo stuff is alt-country of the most intense sort. For first tracks to hear, I'd recommend "Deep Red Bells," "Star Witness," "The Needle Has Landed," and "The Tigers Have Spoken."
