Um, I think I have a mouse.

I've never gotten weirded out about mice before, but it turns out that was because I lived in houses instead of in studio apartments. I don't think I like being unable to chase it out of the room.

Maybe you should use a humane trap, buy a nice-size aquarium, and keep it. Mice are dirt cheap to keep as pets, and they're almost always doing something cute. They're not nearly as intelligent as rats, though.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that!

I need to wait until I actually see it. I re-investigated a night or two later, and decided it was possible that the chewing noise was coming from extension cords behind the fridge vibrating when the pump motor turned on. Doesn't explain the shadow I saw out of the corner of my eye, but I may have been trippin'. Wait and see, I suppose.
