ELLLL-JAAAYYYYY. *shakes fist* So apparently, Livejournal shitcanned the person widely regarded as their best employee, partnered with a search engine that publicly revealed content from a small subset of friends-only posts, and turned the formerly low-volume news account into a cavalcade of cheese, incidentally instituting a policy of plagiarizing users' text in each post. Awesome. I guess it's been a busy week?!

This seems like as good a time as any to turn this Dreamwidth account into a paid one, especially since the introductory pricing is still in effect for another day or two. And if you're thinking of joining with a free account, I have invite codes, so just holler.

What search engine? How do I find out if I need to delete something, or should I not worry about this?

This is the link I followed from Zvi over on Dreamwidth. As I understand it, there was an issue with posts that were initially posted as public and then switched to friends-only, but I don't know the precise nature of it. I think posts that were never public remained safe. I don't think entire posts could be viewed, only excerpts.

The search engine is called "Yandex." I've never heard of it; this is probably because I'm not Russian.
