Hawaii coda
Oct. 17th, 2006 10:54 pmOkay, Mom's home safe. And from Wikinews: "There were no fatalities reported and only scattered reports of minor injuries." Final magnitude rating: 6.7. (Conversationally: Minor whopper. We got a 6.8 back in Feb. '01, and it was pretty entertaining. And then it fucked up the 4th ave bridge and the Capitol rotunda. On the other hand, I think the one earlier this year that killed a bunch of people in Indonesia was only like a 6.9. It all depends on how close to the surface it is and what the surrounding turf looks like. And whether you have enough money to use mortar to hold your bricks together instead of just mud.)
Hopefully the state will be getting back to its own laid-back thing shortly. Sounds like
