So, BonEcho a2. Shows promise, especially with the new search engine UI and capabilities, but what's blowing me away the most is the new ubiquitous inline spellchecker. Getting spellcheck working in 1.5 required a sketchy extension with a complicated installation process (learned about this when I had to bring it online for Dad's SP.N work), but now it works like a dream right out of the box. Slick.

The app's buggy, though, so handle with care and back up your profile.

Is 2.0 still missing the small red tab-close button on the far right? The one that's been there in all pre-2.0 releases? It's good that they added one to each individual tab (http://shots.osdir.com/slideshows/original.php?release=597&slide=15), I guess, so people without 3-button mice could easily close tabs. (With a 3-button mouse, you could middle-click on any tab to close it.) But the far-right tab-close button was really useful sometimes. Is there an option to turn it back on, or is it gone for good?

It's gone for good. Middle-click still destroys tabs (and will continue to do so), but other than that, they've basically switched to the on-tab close button model that Safari uses. (With some differences; instead of immediately spilling to an overflow menu-list, it still shrinks the tabs like Firefox always did, and then removes all but one of the close buttons before the tabs get too small to select without accidentally closing.)

I dunno... I figure it's probably for the best, but there'll definitely be some confusion ensuing.
