Not that the Microsoft Zune looks any good or anything, but could people please lay the fuck off the brown? Brown is fucking awesome. Brown has class, hardcore. It's the one thing they did unequivocally right with that device.

But there was one interesting thing I read. Steven Spielberg stated that he was never going to release films of any length for iPod-sized viewers, but his justification was that his entire lifetime of training only qualified him to create film within the medium of the silver screen and those media which imperfectly-but-reasonably approximate it. Or in other words: In Speilberg's opinion, the portable video player is not a tiny TV, but is in fact an entirely different medium which is going to require a whole new corpus of visual and structural techniques. An outlaw art form, basically.
I'm tempted to believe this, which means I'm obligated to pay attention despite my lack of direct interest.
