Right, so the camera on this new phone* is extremely shitty. And I am okay with that, because it is just a phone; mostly what I need it to do is make calls and texts and not take up too much space in my pocket. That said, it is very cool to be able to just whip it out anywhere and start firing away, and you can still get some worthwhile shots with it.

Here are some from yesterday's crazy storm.















This is at about 3 pm. Notice that most of the light in these is coming from streetlamps and storefronts.

Hahah, I was just listening to Misc. T today, for the first time in a couple of years, and that song came on... I had completely forgotten about it.

It's sort of an amazing song to forget about and rediscover.

Yeah... I actually hadn't heard it for months, and have no idea why it suddenly popped back into the front of my head. o_o

I really wish I still had the second disc of that. I never actually owned my own copy of Lincoln, since my brother bought that when we both still lived at home, and then I later bought THEN. ...And I loved it so much it never left my CD wallet. Which got stolen.

I have it all ripped to MP3, of course, but I miss being able to just grab it and stick it in the car.

Do you know, I actually get that effect with my real camera, too! Except that it doesn't show up unless you zoom ALL the way in, which takes up about nine monitors worth of pixelage; once you zoom out to a usable size, it's invisible.

I don't think I ever got that with the Nikon point-and-shoot that my sister now uses; it must indicate something about what specific type of sensor a given camera uses.

Oh crap, I should remember the word for this. It's part of how the blades of the aperture come together, and how that affects the out-of-focus areas. Like, a person can cut any old shape (star, starburst, bar, multiple dots) out of cardstock, put that between the lens and the camera body, and your out-of focus spots will have that shape.

Boca! I think it's called boca. Not sure though.

Chase is as bad at pronouncing words as I am, and I hardly ever see the spelling of whatever nerd-word he's saying, so I don't know.

I will ask him when he gets home from work though, because it is going to bother me.
