H...holy shit! There's finally a new Notwist album coming out!

I'm... actually kind of nervous. Neon Golden was, for me, nearly a perfect album, and it's one of the only times I've actually avoided hearing a band's earlier work for fear that it would diminish the bit I know and love by not measuring up.

Well, here's hoping.

You'd be completely surprised by their first album "The Notwist", it's night and day when compared to "Neon Golden". I questioned whether it was the same band for a little while. It's good but it's completely different. I can't wait to check out that album though.

Yeah, that's more or less what I was worried about.

Well, actually, no, I lie--I got my hopes up and bought the 13+God album, and THAT's what I was worried about. Scared me off of even believing they had more than one album. :P

So my friend the_drifter gave me Neon Golden in a music swap a long time ago, and I still hadn't listened to it until your post reminded me of its existence. Holy crap! Really good.

Man, I bought that album when I was in Cork, and for a month or three was seriously listening to it every day and hearing something new in it each time.

Now it's tied to a whole bunch of memories and smells and sensations from then; One With the Freaks infallibly takes me back to climbing St. Patrick's hill and watching the sun go down.
