Okay, who here has replaced an iPod battery? Who's the seller I ought to be buying the kit from?

(Mom's iPod Mini is juiced out; it's on me to do some surgery, and I'd be grateful for any advice you have to offer.)

I replaced the battery on my old iPod mini, though I can't specifically recall where I got it. (The cost was only about 20 dollars. I'm pretty sure I just googled "iPod" battery.)

The actual replacement was a little tricky, even with the tool provided. I kinda scratched the case up trying to pry the two white plastic caps off. Once you get the case off, the rest is easy. As long as you expect/don't mind a few cosmetic scratches, it's well worth it.

It might be too late, but I found the receipt from when I bought my replacement battery. It was --quite logically-- www.laptopsforless.com .

I wish I had known about using a hairdryer; clever hackers!

p.s. Throwing Muses are excellent! They were the first band I ever saw live. Personally, my favorite album is The Real Ramona, which has all of Kristin Hersh's odd rolling guitar work with Tanya Donnely's poppier stuff. Though really, all of it is good (University is another favorite).
