Oh, and if I haven't already mentioned this to you: I've unilaterally called an early end to 2008. It was a bullshit year, basically, and I see no good reason to wait another three months to see the back of it. Nope: much as they speak of the long 19th century, I am now inhabiting the long 2009, and I invite you to join me. (And benchilada, and binkuswinkus... shaneface, you in too?)

I'd do it, except I'm not sure the terribleness is over yet, and I don't want it following us to next year. Let's get the credit markets unlocked, and I'll meet you on the other side.

It's a deal! (To be honest, I was kind of worried about that too, but since at least part of my problem was the 2008-dread itself, I figure I'm up one on the universe no matter what. This year's been enough same-shit-different-day that even convincing myself it's different-shit-different-day is improvement.)
