Welcome to the world of remnant ads. LJ can only triage them after the fact if complained about, not prevent them from showing up. Those kinds of ads have been showing since the days the ads on LJ started, really.
What I think happened is, every other time I've browsed from a public computer without a login cookie, they'd managed to sell the ad-space to someone with the good dollars. Perfect storm, or whatever.
They kind of make a site look like an illegal fleamarket happening in the parking lot of a structure-fire-gutted K-Mart.
Yup! That's about the way it goes. If there aren't any good ad campaigns running, then you start getting the ick ads. Or, if you've been browsing long enough, you kind of run out of good ad pageviews and can start getting ick ads.
