Hey, I've got one or two people in Michigan in this here flist, right? You guys wanna have some fun at the primaries?
(I totally endorse this, by the way. For the obvious tactical reasons, but also because the Republican primaries have been barrels of laffs.)

Date: 2008-01-11 12:21 am (UTC)But I'm not actually a Democrat - it's more that I'm more and more wary of the Republican party, and the people who I would prefer to have as president are Democrats (Any of the top three, really, would not be objectionable for me). Having said that, I wouldn't mind casting a vote on a Republican ballot for a tolerable Republican candidate, in hopes of having TWO decent choices in November.
So I could vote Democrat and undecided, or I could vote Republican and... probably McCain... and either of those might do some sort of good. If our primaries counted for anything, which they probably don't, but the hope here is mostly that having made the primaries useless this election year means that by next election year, there will be some reform in regards to the way primaries work.
So to sum it all up, "probably not, but if I was actually a Democrat rather than independent, I'd gleefully consider this as an alternative."

Date: 2008-01-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(No, seriously: I recognize that monster-fighters are at special risk for monsterization. I remain unconvinced that plain old crossover primary voting, which happens every time one party's primary is a no-go, is some huge loss of innocence.)
