I finished the game.

And yes, dammit, I cried a bit. Actually, I think the score was something like three cries of "NO," much sniffling during the last battle, and then finally losing it in the credits when Claus started walking downscreen.

There's a lot more I could say about it, but I don't know that it really needs to be said. It was beautiful and honest and brave, and it ended exactly the way it had to. I'm glad I got to play it.

GOD DAMN YOU GRADUATE SCHOOL!! I'm sort of glad you beat it so you can stop tempting me with it in these posts. :-)

And I get a little choked up when the Earthbound end credits get to the part where the music pauses for an "I miss you" just before the end, so I can totally believe they were capable of more of that emotion.

Oh boy. I'm going to be a wreck, aren't I? :D

I've fallen behind because of that big fat migraine I had, so I just finished up with Tanetane Island. That was... incredibly special.

I have a feeling that hanging out with Magypsies is kind of like being on shrooms ALL THE TIME.

Maybe I should pick up Earthbound again. I emulated it years ago, but eventually lost interest somewhere inside Dungeonman. The terrible bleepy-bloopiness of it did me in, as I recall -- music accounts for way more of my opinion of a game than it really should, I've realized.

Nonsense -- there is no limit to the effect the music should have on your opinion, and that Dungeon Man noise was terrible. I hated FF6's World of Ruin so much because of that horrific, grating organ. Part of me still winces anytime I hear a 16-bit wind effect.
