Welcome to the new year. Read more fucking comics!

• If you're not reading MSPA: Homestuck yet, the joke's on you. 'Nuff said.
• Spacetrawler — a kickin' sci-fi ensmble rampage that combines everything Baldwin learned from his years doing Bruno, Little Dee, Bad Mile, and those MAD Magazine pieces, plus a few new tricks.
• Modern Fried Snake — I'm still trying to figure out what I think about this one, but it would be a shame for it to fly under the radar.
• Liz Fuckin' Prince is on the internet! If I haven't subjected you to Will You Still Love Me If I Wet the Bed yet, you are missing out.
• The Meek is one of the most technically astonishing serials I've seen in a while. Go and see.
• Buttercup Festival has been back for a while and deserves more love. (It's mostly the more contemplative subspecies these days, but it still occasionally lapses into old-skool absurdity.)
• You've got about a semester left to get with the program on Bobwhite.
• If anyone links you to Oglaf and you happen to be at work, DON'T CLICK.
• The improbably-back-from-the-dead award goes to Nine Planets Without Intelligent Life, which I was surprised to find myself still rather fond of.
• Forming is completely insane. I guarantee you are not ready for it.

And all the usual suspects, including Family Man and Dicebox, both of which recently turned one book old.

(Homestuck is now in my Toolbar of Things to Check Daily so I never get that far behind on it again. I couldn't even remember where I'd left off, and any save-cookies were long gone, so I just started over from the beginning. I mean, it was fun! But also owww.)

Man, yeah, pretty much. The cartoonist has as much as said that even he can't read through it to check up on things because it's gotten so big.

(You might want to give Serialist a peek, though. It was a little flaky on iOS the last time I tried it, but it works great on a regular browser.)

Considering I'm only halfway through Homestuck after a month-plus of browsing here and there, I'm wary of this list. It looks daunting. But I clicked around and I like Forming so far.

Nah, that's cool! Mostly what I'm up to with these kinds of posts is just running stuff in front of folk in case any of it strikes a chord. I'm glad you dig Forming; I think my brother and I found that one independently and were both shocked when we found out the other one was reading it too. I think it has that kind of WAY underground vibe that might make you honestly kind of afraid of the cartoonist, except that it's so relentlessly self-aware and self-mocking.

(If you have a reading style that makes keeping track of your place a pain in the butt, you might try Serialist. I do the RSS thing, which never seemed to catch on with the general public but which turns out to be a great way to read way too many comics in the time it would otherwise take to read a few too many comics.)

Haha. My reading style is "keep it open in a tab until I feel like getting back to it, sometimes weeks later." I can see how this would get annoying the more comics I add. Thanks for the link.

Forming is bizarre, definitely, but I don't think I'm having as strong a reaction as you. I'm not any more afraid of the cartoonist than I am of the guy doing Homestuck, which is less violent and in your face, but definitely weird in its own way. But I do like Forming. Nice art. I'll try to wrap up the story so far later tonight.
