In which there is a book haul, though damned if I'm gonna get a chance to dig in anytime soon

And oh yeah, my order from Small Beer rolled in the other day. (*angelic chorus.*) There's a volume for Ms. Von Strangehours in the mix, which I'll probably get to when I go grab my change of address form, and I've already read Generation Loss, but the rest goes on my already-creaking to-read shelf, and I can't hardly wait. In particular, those Peapod Classics versions of Travel Light and Carmen Dog look fantastic. (And oh my god, go check out those Kevin Huizenga covers in the Google Previews. Far too adorable.)

I think that as I'm getting settled in to the new place, I'll go on a good old-fashioned book binge. Maybe start taking the bus to work, while I'm at it.

When I was, like, halfway through Magic for Beginners, I realised that my buddy who had to go move forever away from me NEEDED to read it. So I finished it up and mailed it to her a week or so ago. She got it already and you know how the first story is about that handbag? A few days before she got the book she was in the garment district and store described in the story and totally bought a handbag. Not black and furry, but still!! I just found that wildly exciting.

I'm pissed now, because I should have picked up several copies of that damn thing.

Me too! I started kicking myself for not stocking up a few hours after I placed the order.

That, about the handbag? That is crazy.
